About me
Michelle McClanan is a high school STEM educator, science department chair, and doctoral student in instructional design and performance technology. Her work focuses on AI literacy, assignment design, visible student thinking, accessibility, and responsible technology use in learning environments. She has developed and delivered professional learning for educators on AI-supported teaching practices, guardrails, and instructional decision-making. Drawing from classroom practice, curriculum design, and graduate research, Michelle helps educators move beyond tool adoption toward learning design that preserves student agency, evidence of thinking, and meaningful engagement. She is a chapter contributor to a forthcoming book on the responsible use of AI.
