About me
Dr. Jaehwan Byun is an Associate Professor, Director of the Applied AI in Education Research Laboratory and Chair of the Master of Education in Learning and Instructional Design program at Wichita State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His research focuses on instructional design, generative AI in education, digital game-based learning, and learning analytics. Dr. Byun leads NASA-funded STEM initiatives and URCA-supported research on AI integration in classrooms. Recognized with the Excellence in Online Teaching award, he actively contributes to academia through extensive publications, presentations, and professional service.
